Buffalo Bill Days begins the afternoon of July 23 with the Buffalo Bill Days Golf Tournament at Fossil Trace Golf Club in Golden and continues July 24 as the Greater Golden Chamber of Commerce hosts their annual BBQ Luncheon at the historic Buffalo Rose Events Center in downtown Golden. The main celebration kicks off at Parfet Park, 10th and Washington, 5 p.m. July 25 with the singings of the National Anthem and continues through 5 p.m. July 27. The continuous events in the park will include music and entertainment on the main stage, arts and craft vendors, food and beverage vendors and rides and games for the kids. Saturday features the Golden Fire Department Pancake Breakfast followed by the famous Best of the West Parade and around High Noon a Wild West Show in the middle of a closed Washington Avenue along with an Orphan Car Show. Sunday morning begins with a Community Worship Service followed by Muttin Bustin for the kids and a Classic Car Show. Other Golden organizations like the Astor House, Clear Creek History Park and the Golden Pioneer Museum will also hold events as part of the celebration.

The Golden Fine Arts Festival, a free open-air art festival with art for all ages and at all prices, will take place along 11th Street, west of Washington Avenue. The third annual Golden Gallop: Race to Defeat Pancreatic Cancer will be at Splash Aquatic Park, 3151 Illinois St. in Golden. The 10K run, 5K run/walk and 1K fun run will help fund the ongoing programs at the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, including research grants, patient services and community events to raise awareness, create hope and ultimately find a cure for this terrible disease. The Golden Gallop kicks off with on-site registration at 7:15 a.m. The 10K run begins at 8 a.m., followed by the 5K walk/run at 8:15 a.m. and the 1K kids' fun run at 10 a.m. Registration is now open at www.goldengallop.org and is $25 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under in the fun run. Participants are encouraged to fundraise through their personalized event page. Incentive prizes will be awarded at the $75, $200 and $500 fundraising levels. The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA), the non-profit provider of home care, hospice and wellness services throughout Colorado, is looking for individuals interested in becoming a volunteer with VNA's Senior Wellness Clinics. Each month the VNA conducts more than 80 clinics providing foot care and basic health assessments to seniors across the Denver-metro area. Children's immunizations include DtaP, DT, Td, MMR, polio, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, Hib, chickenpox and pneumococcal vaccine. Adult immunizations include Td, pneumovax, MMR, hepatitis B, hepatitis A and chickenpox vaccine. TB skin tests are also available. Children's vaccines are free, but there is an administrative fee of $15 per shot. The fees for adults vary depending on the vaccine.
